Hebrews 6 & 10 – The Impossibility of Salvation – Part 27
The only way this works is with BINARYISM… with RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT!
Matthew 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Matthew 7:1-2 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: …
If you judge after the flesh… you will be judged after the flesh. And because you “doest the same things”, you will be condemned as guilty, by your own mouth.
Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
TRUE righteousness and TRUE judgment MUST be understood.
They must be LAID DOWN PERFECTLY! Why??
Because how you judge, is going to be judged!
The judgment that you lay down, is going to be judged by, tried with, measured against, a perfect measure of true and righteous judgment.
Isaiah 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: …
He is going to judge YOUR judgment, with HIS judgment.
He is going to judge YOUR righteousness, with HIS righteousness.
Acts 17:31 … he will judge the world in righteousness by that man …
We must lay down the perfect doctrine of Christ, so we can overcome in the judgment!
To truly “lay down our lives” for others, we have to “lay down” THAT MAN, Jesus Christ, as a foundation!
1 Corinthians 3:10 … as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, …
How does a wise masterbuilder “lay down” a foundation?
Well, how do men lay foundations for THEIR large buildings? For their tall towers?
A good foundation needs to be dug deep, be made of the right materials, needs to be of the right measurements.
So, that is what the Lord is going to test for:
Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
The Lord is going to WEIGH every man’s spirit, to know their righteousness, and judgment.
Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Proverbs 2:9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
The Lord is going test what we lay down.
Part of that test, is WEIGHING IT.
Isaiah 26:7 … thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. 8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; …
A good foundation must be made of the correct substance. Thus it must have the correct WEIGHT!
But … a good foundation must be level, and plumb, and of perfect dimension!
And that is what the Lord is going to test for also! How?
By using perfect measurements of lines and plummets!
Isaiah 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: …
“Judgment … to the line”
Jesus is going to measure every man, every man’s words, every man’s judgment, against His own.
2 Samuel 8:2 And he [David] smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. …
The Lord is going to do the same thing when He lays judgment to the line.
If, when the Lord measures your judgment, your foundation, and it doesn’t measure perfectly…?
If YOUR judgment is not EQUAL to HIS judgment, or if YOUR righteousness is not exactly equal to HIS righteousness? … You will be “put to death”!
Matthew 7:1-2 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Your judgment will be judged. You will be judged based on how you judge.
“Oh, I don’t judge”, they say!
So then God has nothing to judge? Well, then God must be a liar.
Ezekiel 33:20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
- You’re a liar. Every man judges in his heart.
- You can’t NOT judge.
“righteousness to the plummet”
Psalms 111:7-8 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. 8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
The Lord is going to use a perfect measurement, a plummet of righteousness, to measure the UPRIGHTNESS of each stone of New Jerusalem.
He is going to measure your judgment, and your righteousness… whether it is truly UPRIGHT.
Psalms 58:1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
Isaiah 26:7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.
Proverbs 2:15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
Isaiah 59:8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
“No judgment”, is NOT a good thing.
Psalms 58:1-2 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men? 2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
The Lord is going to test the works that you do IN YOUR HEART: the way that you JUDGE!
The words that you SPEAK, when you THINK your THOUGHTS, IN YOUR HEART.
Your judgment must be perfectly UPRIGHT!
Isaiah 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: …
Righteousness and judgment MUST be “laid down” PERFECTLY!!
This is what the Lord did when He came. He laid down a perfect foundation, by words… by doctrine!
And this is what He is going to do, how he is going to JUDGE, when He returns.
He is going to lay down judgment and righteousness, perfectly. And then, He will measure every man, and every man’s words, every man’s judgment, against His own.
“I don’t judge”, they say. “Jesus didn’t judge either.”
Isaiah 11:3-4 … he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, …
How can we reconcile that with this?
John 5:30 … as I hear, I judge: …
#1) The Lord does not hear the same as man hears.
1 Samuel 16:7 … for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
This is why Jesus said, “judge not”. Because men’s natural eyes and ears can’t see or hear the hidden things of a man’s heart.
1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: …
Because men judge according to the appearance. So men need to STOP judging. “Judge not”.
They need to STOP judging, and then they need to START judging.
Unless you are able to hear and to see the HEART of men, then you are judging WRONG, CROOKED judgment. You say, “well no one can do that. So only God can judge people. No man can judge.”
That’s not true.
Matthew 7:15-16 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. …
Matthew 12:33-37 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
The only way to judge correctly now, is to judge the same way God is going to judge men.
By taking their WORDS, that come out of their mouths, which come out of their hearts, and trying them, comparing them, measuring them against HIS WORDS.
The only way to correctly judge now, is to draw them out man’s counsels, and compare them with the word of God.
Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, …
Proverbs 20:5-6 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out. 6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
So again, how can we reconcile …
Isaiah 11:3 … he shall not judge … after the hearing of his ears:
John 5:30 … as I hear, I judge: …
